While we all know there are plenty of things to do in Ocean City outside of the peak season (like golfing, trips to Assateague Island, shopping at the outlet malls, exploring museums, and more) what are the real reasons to visit the town during the off-season, and what is there to do?
Enjoy Unique Events
Endless Summer Cruisin’
The Endless Summer Cruisin’ event brings over 2,000 hot rods, custom cars, and classic cruisers to town! The main event takes place at the Ocean City Inlet, but you’ll see unique cars riding along Coastal Highway all weekend long, as well as various pop-up locations throughout town such as the Ocean City Convention Center. There is also Free State Corvette Weekend in October, usually the weekend following Endless Summer Cruisin’, for any Corvette-enthusiasts!
Restaurant Week
During the Fall season, typically mid-October, restaurants, bars, and grilles in town offer fixed prices for special dishes that will entice your taste buds! Along with getting a great bang for your buck during Restaurant Week, you will also get to indulge in the participating locations’ delicious unique meals.
Beer and Wine Festivals
From the Shore Craft Beer Festival at Sunset Park to Wine on the Beach to the Good Beer Festival in Salisbury, there are plenty of festivals with free tastings and great entertainment in Ocean City and nearby areas.
Celebrate the Holidays
Halloween isn’t just “Halloweekend” in Ocean City… We celebrate the spooky holiday all month long with O.C.Toberfest! And once Halloween has passed, it’s very soon after that the Winterfest of Lights begins! You can celebrate with winter holidays with lights, hot cocoa, a visit with Santa, and some holiday shopping at Northside Park from mid-November to New Years!
Take Advantage of Off-Season Specials
You’ll find delicious, affordable deals not only during Fall Restaurant Week but throughout the entire off-season. Check out our list of “Today’s Specials” or “Super Deals” to find irresistible specials all year long!
Enjoy Peace & Quiet of a Serene Beach Town
Although we all love great dinner deals, unbeatable happy hours, and exciting Fall and Winter events, the best part about Ocean City in the off-season is the appreciation for its beauty. Without bustling tourists and the hectic congestion of summertime, you’re able to “smell the roses” as they like to say. Take a walk on the beach, and enjoy the crashing waves and salty air all to yourself. Take a bike ride along the boardwalk. Watch the sunrise. Don’t worry about finding a seat at the bar for happy hour at your favorite spot in town. The list could go on…
Yes, the off-season is a locals’ favorite, but we want everyone to explore the town of Ocean City during these beautiful months!
